Three hours in Lucca on your own tomorrow afternoon? This is our second visit...

We would appreciate suggestions on how best to enjoy Lucca tomorrow afternoon? We have visited before and seen the highlights but now we return on a cruise excursion with a three hour window to do whatever during our visit to Lucca.

Thanks in advance for your ideas!!!!

More ideas to add to the mix…

  • Visit the small museum of Italian emigration if it’s open
  • Climb Guinigi Tower for great views.
  • Arrange a walking tour with a private guide. I recommend Paola Moschini
  • Cooking class? ( no firsthand experience to recommend and you probably don’t have enough time)
  • Visit the Puccini museum.
  • Gelato at Ele Gelati on Via San Paolino just west of Piazza San Michele.

Here’s a few events, depending on your timing:

Otherwise, a stroll on the wall, a snack at either a piazza or the anfiteatro interior - depending if you want shade or sun, and a quick stop in a church or museum is probably about the amount of time you have available.
