Heya!
I'm doing a family trip to Italy in May - my two parents, me and my spouse, my sister, and my two-year-old daughter. The six of us are visiting Rome and Naples together and then we're splitting up for a week or so - we will leave Naples on May 11, just me and my husband and our daughter. We have three days/nights to cover - May 11, 12, and 13 - before arriving in San Gimignano on May 14, where we'll stay for two nights and then meet back up with the family in Florence.
Will happily take advice and recommendations for how/where to spend these three days.
Currently considering:
- Rent a car in Napoli, drive east and make our way through Basilicata to Matera, Lecce, Bari, Brindisi, then turn west to San G.
- Take a train north and get to know Milan, Lake Garda, and the dolomites before heading south to Tuscany
- Rent a car and move very slowly through Umbria and Tuscany
- Hop on a ferry and go to Sardenia, Corsica, and the Italian riviera.
My family will be going to Venice and the Cinque Terre so my hope is to avoid any kind of direct overnight overlap in the came city as them. Thank you in advance for the advice and recommendations!
