I’ll be taking the train from Salerno to Matera in early November, and the route I’m looking at goes through Potenza. I’m trying to decide whether to get off the train and spend some time in Potenza. If I do, would it be worth spending the night there before continuing on to Matera the next morning? Or should I plan on just a few hours in Potenza? Or just stay on the train?
I enjoy walking around historic sites, seeing old architecture, eating at good restaurants, sitting in charming old town piazze, etc. And I do speak Italian.
