Thoughts on itinerary

Hello - my husband and I are arriving in the morning in Venice mid Sept. Our plan is as follows:
Venice - three nights (first day a write off after 12 hour flight) two days to explore and get lost
Florence - 4 nights (one day bicycle/wine tour, one day San G or Lucca, two days Florence)
CT - 3 nights (stop at Pisa on the way from Florence) arrive CT late day so really only two full days
Take train down the coast to Civit to board Cruise. I will save my question about this for another post.
We will visit Rome after the cruise for 3 or 4 nights.

My questions are - do you think we are fitting in too many places? Is the order good? Are we missing something? We are in our 50's - want to see a bit of museums etc. but want to experience the culture.
Thanks for your thoughts!

In my arrogant opinion, it's a great allocation of your days to the locations you mentioned. The sequential order is also perfect.

In my opinionated opinion I am in agreement with Roberto's opinion of your proposition, proximating perfection.

Note though that you only have just the one full day for Florence, not two.

Day
01. Arrive Venice - 3 nights
02.03. Venice
04. Train to Florence - 4 nights
05. Florence
06. bicycle/wine tour
07. San G or Lucca
08. Train via Pisa to CT - 3 nights
09.10. Cinque Terre
11. Train via La Spezia to Civitavechia to board your cruise. This looks like your best departure ...

It sounds like a good itinerary- not too rushed but as much as you can comfortably fit into that time. The only problem is choosing which day trip from Florence (not a bad problem to have as problems go!) I can think of 20 day trips from Florence that I desperately want to do..... (c'mon winning Lotto ticket.....)

Thanks everyone for your thoughts. All very helpful. I was thinking we would leave Venice fairly early and have that day in Florence plus another full day. Do you think this is enough? We could just do two night in CT and add one more to Florence. As when we leave CT to Civit we could spend half the day in CT before leaving. Thoughts?

That really depends on your preference for renaissance art. Booking the Uffizi for the afternoon after arriving from Venice (with rested feet) might be a good idea.
To spend the night at Civitavecchia prior to your cruise is really at your discretion also. There are several train options that will get you there the same day as departure.

CT is nice, but I think an additional day in Florence would be a better use of time.

Your itinerary looks good as far as order of travel
