We will be four nights in Florence, which gives us four evenings, three days, and a morning. Will be staying just north of the Arno, a few blocks from the major museums, etc. Would like to spend two full days and a morning in Florence, plus one full day and an evening in Siena.
While both Uffizi and Accademia are on the north side of the River, I can't imagine it makes sense to try to do both in one day... So I thinking of doing Accademia, Duomo, and Renaissance Walk on Day One, and Uffizi, Pitti/Bobboli on Day 2, with a bit of exploring of the neighborhoods, sunset views, and churches as possible. Does that make sense?
Then, on the second day, we would take a side trip by train to Siena to explore the medieval walls, eat good food, etc.
On day four, we'd relax and stroll a bit before grabbing a train to get to Rome by 3ish.
Does this make sense? Any special suggestions for when to get tix for Accademia and Uffizi? Any specifics to see in Siena? Any must-explore neighborhoods or restaurants? And... we will be there in early June, and wondering if it's worth fighting the crowds to see the sunset views?
