Hi. My family and I are heading to Italy this late May!! We are an active family. My boys are ages 13 and 16. I have been to Italy several times (my brother lived in Rimini for several years and I also traveled through with friends on a backpack trip after college), but none of the rest of my family has been before.
Here is our proposed itenerary:
Land in Venice (3 nights there)
Dolomites--stay in Bolzano (2 nights there)
Lake Como--stay in Varenna (2 nights there)
Cinque Terre--stay in Monterosso (2 nights there)
Florence--doing a home exchange so will have an apartment (4 nights there)
Sardinia--doing a home exchange so will have a house (5 nights there--first place to rent a car)
Fly out of Rome--(3 nights there)
I feel like we might be trying to do too much, but having a hard time trying to cut any of those places out...
We are going to be on trains and traveling lightly.
Would love some input.
Grazie!! (have been listening to my Italian in my car!!)
