Thoughts of Zoe

We had a toast to Zoe last night at a restaurant in Bologna that she recommended to me last time we communicated. The restaurant was Ristorante la Columbina. It is wonderful with excellent creative food and great service. We loved the fact that the restaurant was nice without being stuffy- many babies and children accompanying their parents.

Good for you. Thanks for mentioning it.

I was just in a bookstore looking at a tourbook today (green book of Itay) and discussing with my wife how iconic the photo of Bologna is on the cover - a view I know well - when I overheard three young adults speaking in Italian. We got to chatting - they overheard us talking about Bologna - and said how they were from Sicily (ah Zoe) who had moved to the north of Italy for school and work, and were now in the UK.

One of the two men showed me photos his sister had taken yesterday of the sea and the sun back home and the lady was telling my wife all about the part of Sicily they are from.

Such a coincidence that the very first post when I got home was this for Zoe.

Made my day,

Thanks Becky.

Crossing my fingers that I can visit some of Zoe's haunts when I stop in Ascoli Piceno in Le Marche next year, late this year if the planets align for me...

Thanks for sharing this wonderful tribute to Zoe!

I hope you write a trip report and share your adventures with us!

Zoe used to love reading trip reports!
