Others may disagree, but I can't find anything that I'd change. Enjoy!!

Looks like you are flying into Venice and out of Rome - good use of your time. Depending on your time frame you may want to check to see if the Accademia Bridge is open, or at least the crossing is convenient. Also, check the vaporetto stop there. An alternate would be to stay on the San Marco side of the Accademia. e.g. there is a traggetto stop right by Hotel Ala that takes you very close to the Guggenheim, if that's your destination.

The bus trip to Siena (one 'n', the car has 2) is a great day trip. Check your map to see if SM Novella is where you want to return to at the end of the day. It's a little far from the main points of interest. Just saying. Your 4 nights (3 days) from Orvieto looks a bit crowded to me but I base that on my own interests, not yours.

Cinque Terre - look into taking the boat from village to village. Much better views!

Trastevere! Every year I find myself back in Trastevere for sites, people watching, dinner, more people watching and just plain meandering. And it is within walking distance to just about everything in the Centro Storico.

Only one thought. Your Florence stay uses one of the two days (3 nights) to go to Siena. That might shortchange Florence a bit, but it isn't a bad plan.

I would cut one night from Venice and add one night to Florence. I would also change the order of the trip Venice , Vernazza, Florence, Orvieto finish up in Rome.. This way you arent double backing across Italy. The travel between towns will less ,giving you more time to enjoy the local flaver of each town you are visiting. If you have time while in Rome take a side trip to Lake Braccino . It is about 30 minutes outside of Rome... Everybody Loves Raymond Italy episodes were filmed there . Its a nice day trip .

I like your plan just as it is. 4 nights near Orvieto isn't too much considering the day trips you planned.

Someone asked when???
Well, last night I was sitting here after a fine Roma meal including some great bread, a good bottle of wine and a couple of outstanding grappa's and I stsrted wondering if we could have done this trip a different way. I should have asked before we went but I was not sure I was going to be able to make major changes. I had agonized over it for a while...letting go would have been really hard.
We are here in Rome and after our visit today to the Cappucin Crypts and the Borghese we are headed back tomorrow.

The section from Orvieto was indeed too ambitious (as was noted). We did everything (and a few more stops) except Spoleto.
I was drawn to Montefiascone but resisted..next time.
For my taste we were in Firenze long enough...I've been there before...we hit the high points and did lots of walking despite the only bad weather we encountered.
We could have gone from Venice to Cinque Tierre but I don't think it made much of a difference..we had fabulous anchovies in Monterosso, excellent raw sea bass in Vernazza and we were able to get to Hertz in Orvieto before they closed...
There are two Vapareto platforms open at Accadamia..one for each direction up of down the canal. The bridge is still under construction.
Thanks for the input. I'll stop second guessing myself.
My wife's favorite thing from the entire trip?? Gelato.. bless her. That means I can talk her into stopping for one as often as I want to.
