Third Italy Trip Itinerary

Hi All,
I'm planning a third trip to Italy next Spring 2019! We've been to Rome, Florence, Venice. Am I allowing a reasonable amount of time to my itinerary to see each place? Please let me know if I need to add any days. I could add one more day but not sure where to add.

Fly from Boston to Milan head directly to:

Varenna Lake Como 3 nights/2 days

Manarola Cinque Terre 3 nights/2 days

Lucca 3 nights/2 days (day trip to Volterra) loved Orvieto and the Etruscans!

Rome 4 nights/ 3 days (staying in Trastevere this trip)

Thanks in advance.

Instead of a day trip, I would be really tempted to see Volterra on the way to Siena and stay in Siena one night (your extra day). Then on to Rome. Siena is very special.

If you have already been to Siena, then I would add the day at Lucca.

I believe you may find that Volterra is an awkward day-trip from Lucca. It won't be a problem if you plan to have a car for that part of your trip.

When in spring are you thinking of traveling?

We'll be traveling early June. I'm getting a car and driver to take us thru Tuscany, Volterra, San Gimignano and hit a few wineries. This is all preliminary and I'm adding a day to our Tuscany leg, so 4 days / 3 nights. Any suggestions would be appreciated. This is a college graduation gift for our twins. :) Thanks.
