Hi all,
I'll be in Tivoli with my family for some rest and relaxation from Italy's big cities, not to mention "American life." I'll have a rental car, so we can explore the area. Does anyone have any suggestions about what to do and what to visit outside Tivoli? Feel free to leave food recommendations. Thank you.
I can't make recommendations based on experience as we're not visiting until October for three nights. I'm just commenting as a reminder to follow the post for ideas. Within Tivoli we'll be doing the typical siteseeing at Hadrian's Villa and Villa d'Este.
Two special restaurants in Tivoli or nearby:
Ristorante Sibilla is gorgeous! There’s a reason why celebrities & royalty eat here. My B&B owner is good friends with the owner, so he surprised me by arranging a table for me.
Parco Laghi dei Reali Ristorante for a fantastic fresh trout dinner experience.
I booked Domus Colonnato su Villa d’Este which is a home in the medieval section of the city with a terrace that overlooks the d’Este gardens. I really liked Tivoli. It’s much more than a day-trip destination.
