Thermal Springs In Tuscany

Getting excited for our third visit to Italy in late April 2022. After spending 3 nights in Rome, we are headed to Tuscany via rental car and staying at Bonellino Vecchio Agriturismo just outside of Pienza. While day trips to Montepulchiano , Sienna and the many small hamlets in Tuscany will certainly be a priority, after having visited thermal springs in Sao Miguel in the Azores (just loved Furnas), we thought a short afternoon stop at a thermal pool in Tuscany might be a nice rejuvenating experience.

Does anyone have any first hand experience to share regarding Thermal springs in this region?

Cascade del Mulino near Saturina. Several series of falls and pools cascading down from the top of an old mill. Bangi San Filippo near Radicofanni. More of a wilderness experience, short walk thru woods to reach the falls and pools. Both make good picnic spots, both will require water shoes.

This will be farther from Pienza than is Saturnina, but while staying in Castagneto Carducci by the Etruscan Coast this past fall, we drove through Sassetta https://lacerretaterme.it/en/ on a very winding road, on the way to other hill towns. We didn’t have (or make) the time to stop, but are planning a return visit this fall, and want to go there this time.

Roads coming from the east appear to be much less twisty than the road we took from the west!
