I have been to the Terme di Saturnia, the hot water gushing out of the earth in the middle of nowhere is wonderful. I have been there in summer nights or during the day in winter.
I myself would not want to spend a whole week there, as I say, you are in the middle of nowhere, but if you want a cure, that might be an advantage!

We have been to both the cascades and to the Albergo La Fonte del Cerrro hotel in October. First, the hotel is very nice. I believe our room was classified as a junior suite on the bottom floor of the building across from the reception building. There was a large bedroom area with a wardrobe and desk. There was also an attached room with a couch and small refrigerator. The bathroom was not really large but sufficient. The breakfast was really good. I don't remember if the cost of the breakfast as included in the price of the room. The jams were delicious! The website is www.lafontedelcerro.it. You will have to use the tool bar with Google to translate the page. Or, maybe the English translation is farther down the page. I just went to the translate the page toolbar. From the hotel, you can walk about 1/4 mile to get to the river. You will be on the opposite side from the hot springs but can walk across the river to the cascades. Take water shoes!!!!! I can't say that enough because the rocks in the river HURT! OK, maybe your feet are less sensitive than mine. Wearing water shoes will also help you climb up the cascades from the river. The water is hot and feels wonderful. You can find several different places to sit and enjoy the water. The force of the water has sculpted the rocks into little depressions that are good for sitting. The closer you are to the springs, the hotter the water will be. I really enjoyed the springs but walking back across the river was very hard on my feet. Finally, I had my husband give me my socks to wear as I finished crossing the river and back to the hotel. The socks got really dirty. We were at the cascades for about 1/2 hours and did enjoy it. It wouldn't be something to do for several days but two or three times might be fun. Enjoy if you go!
