My entire itenerary is really counting on night train from Paris to Milan in late September, I received notice from Italiarail that booking was available (and I tried the same day it showed released), but every site I try (Italiarail, RailEurope, Thello) show it is either sold out or unavailable....all seats, not just the cheap seats. Is it possible they have not been released yet? Help? This changes everything.
Try Trainline.eu. I input Sept 26 and a night train came up.
I used the following site to book tickets for Paris-Milan. I didn't take an overnight train. I left around 3pm. Tickets became available at 4 months out. For this leg I had difficulty booking tickets directly on the train website so I used this booking engine. It was very easy to use. Good Luck
I tried the website posted and when I choose 2 passengers on September 23rd, it shows none available. :(
I am looking at the Thello site and it is showing trains on Sept 21 and 24, but not on 22 or 23. Usually this indicates there is scheduled construction work that interupts service. That is a Friday and Saturday night, which is when they would shut a line down for maintenance.
Thank you for your replies. I'm just stressing a little because that train was a bug part of our itinerary. Hopefully something will come up. :)
I just checked that Loco site and it shows the 6 berth on my dates for 200 euros. These should be 35 euros. But at least that makes me think the train is running, but WAY inflated on the price.
Have you considered flying?
The thello night train is really not good. We did it last summer and got no sleep at all. We had a 4 person berth (my family) and found it was loud (had to have window open because of the heat), hot then cold, the beds were to short for us and there were no pillows or sheets. We weren't expecting luxury but basics would have been nice. The next time we will fly.

I paid £108 pounds total for 4 tickets £27 each. That was for a TGV by SNCF train. But again that wasn't for the overnight. Also, have you read seat61.com.
Definitely read seat61.com. It looks like you can buy your 6 berth for €35 and 4 berth for €55 for Sept. 24 now on:
https://www.italiarail.com/?aff=S61U
He also says have realistic expectations. Like the above person, he doesn't give it a very good review.
It looks easy to buy on Italiarail. You go through entire process, enter passport info, go to checkout and it says not available yet. On Thello website it shows sold out, since the day it came available. Eurorail shows not available yet.
Use the Thello contact tab and ask them wazzup.
I did the online contact form and received an email that said they would reply within 20 working days. LOL
Now here is a mystery: This page shows most of the September trains are "temporarily closed for sale".
https://www.thello.com/reservation/Ouverture_ventes/index.html
They do not mention the trains on Sept 22 & 23, yet these are the ones that can't be booked now.
