The Way of St. Francis

Does anyone have advice for choosing a tour group to join for the walking pilgrimage from Assisi to Rome? I would also consider smaller segments of the trail. I know some companies transport luggage and set up lodging ... any advice about that option? Thanks.

Macs Adventures ( link in the other thread) breaks the Way up into 8 sections but I cannot figure out where Assisi fits in.

This company offers walks from Florence to Rome, in four stages. The last two would start in Assisi and end in Rome---16 days of walking.

If you can't find the hike through Mac Adventures then try Viadesole

Or, I can HIGHLY recommend calling Judy at Nichols Expeditions in Utah, she can probably find the tour you want, she has lots of connections in Italy. Let her know what you seek, give her a few weeks and she'll get back to you. https://www.nicholexpeditions.com/
or 800 648-8488
( I have personally used Nichols for 6 trips, and each one has been wonderful - several bike trips and 2 hiking trips so far with just this company - I keep going back because they are so good, and the pricing is good as well)

Happy hiking....

I think REI offers this trip. Their tours look nice, but their pricetag's always seemed a little high to me even with the REI co-op member discount. May be worth checking out the website just to see, though...

We visited the Cel of St Francis near Cortona where he spent the last few years til the time of his death and found this very beautiful. It would probably be included in walks from Florence to Assisi and was peaceful.A definate must for anyne following the path of Francis.
