Do you have info re how one can see the pope in the Vatican at Easter - are there tours - can one get into the Vatican without sp4ecial invite??
Well, you - and 250,000 of your newest friends - can see the Pope on Easter Sunday at Mass in St, Peter's Square. If you want seats, you're supposed to request them - we just walked in and sat. Might read this article on our experience, Easter at the Vatican. There are certainly many tours that week as it is the busiest week of the year at the Vatican. As far as a one-on-one audience with the Pope... not going to happen. You don't need a special invite to tour the Vatican. For special Masses you would need a pass/ticket. But there are many available times/options during Easter Week. Perhaps you could be more specific in your request??
For me, attending the Holy Thursday service was a chance to see the pope and not have to deal with quite as large a crowd. Tickets were required and simple to get if you follow their procedure. My memory is they had to be picked up a day or two before but I am not certain on this.
