The ole Car Rental in Florence Question?

So I know, don't drive in Florence! The ZTL will snatch you up and spit you out.

So here it goes. I would like to pick up a car in Florence (Via del Sansovino 53) at the Hertz just south west of the Arno. I will use it to drive to Lucca and area, then maybe on the day we return to Florence, we might head to San Gimignano, before returning car to Hertz.

It looks like all of my travel will be outside the ZTL. Looking at the map, travel too Lucca is safe and even if I travel Via Senese and Viale Francesco Petrarcrca those are just outside Zone E. Anybody have experience with this are or this Hertz, seems like safe route.

BTW, found some really good maps in Google maps for ZTL. Here is one, if yo clikc related maps you can get more:

To go to Lucca it's easier and faster if you pick your car at the airport, however it might cost more.
Via Senese is outside the ZTL, however you need to be aware of bus lanes as well. Via Senese between the intersection with Via Gelsomino and Piazzale di Porta Romana can used by buses only in the northbound direction (toward Piazzale di Porta Romana). All other vehicles must turn right onto via Del Gelsomino.
