The last Supper tickets

Husb and I will be in Milan 10/3 for 1 day and want to see Last Supper & Duomo, at least. I know we need to pre-book Last Sup tickets. Have looked at a site for last sup and have read postings here. Am confused...better to do a tour which includes more sites and more money or better to book just Last Supper...want to do as much as can while there.

A tour might be your only option. I booked reservations for 10/2 in July. There were only four time slots left then.

I'm going to be in Milan for a short time in November and booked a tour. I was afraid I would get lost and wasting time in this huge city, so a tour is a time saver. Worth the money for me.
Have a wonderful trip!

Shelley:
To see as much as you can in one day, the tour will be a good option. However, if you are familiar with the city, then the Last Supper and the Duomo can be done easily without the tour in one day.

We are going to Milan this week and have booked
a tour which includes the Last Supper. We wanted to maximise our time in Milan and also guarantee that we
would be able to view the Last Supper since we too are spending just one day there. The tours are about 3 hours and there is one at 9:30 am which leaves your afternoon free. www.autostradale.it

I just tried to book one ticket for the Last Supper. The first available date is Nov. 4. Now I'm looking for a tour that will guarantee seeing it.

Chani: Many travelers have better results reserving The Last Supper by phone rather than online, by phone there are more days and time slots available. From the US, you dial 011-39-02-8942-1146. In Italy, you call tel. 02-8942-1146. I don't know what the dialing prefix for Italy is from Israel but the basic # is the last 10 digits,If you reserve by phone, you don't need to pay the extra money for a tour because you will have booked direct.Shalom

Kent - I finally got thru by phone, using persistent redialling. My only days in Milan Oct 3 and 15 - both weekdays - were booked solid. Let this be a lesson to others.

I just googled "the last supper tickets" and found several sites that sell tickets. They are include about $10-$15 in fees. Still it's cheaper than the guided tour. I picked one and expect to hear back on Monday. I'll post the result.

I'm in Milan in December and tried calling this morning from LA. Busy. Busy. Busy.
Perused all of the info you can find on this website by typing in Last Supper Tickets in the search box. Just booked a 3.5 hour tour which includes the Last Supper, La Scalla, some walking in the fashion area of Milan and the Dumo.

Now I don't have to worry.

Claudia: Others have had that phone # being busy after about 3 or 4pm Italy time, for some reason. And thanks for posting the website where you did the workaround. It's worth the trouble, you get 15 minutes in the room, they only let 25 in so you feel you get some "alone time" with the painting, there aren't hordes in front of you. I just wish he had used the right kind of fresco technique (the deterioration)!

Chani: How disappointing, for you, that telephoning did not work, that they are so booked in October. Milan is often busy with big business conventions in October, after the summer business lull--perhaps that has something to do with it being so booked? Sounds like you figured out a workaround. If you post the website on Monday when you hear from them, that will help people here. It's worth the trouble, you get 15 minutes in the room, they only let 25 in so you feel you get some "alone time" with the painting, there aren't hordes in front of you. Apparently the church farms out the majority of their tickets to the tour companies and the ticket agencies. There seem to be time slots every 15 minutes, but on the official website there are only about 6 or 8 time slots a day!!

Thanks everyone. We decided to book a tour with Viator.com as it assures us entry to the last supper and we get to see LaScala and some other sites plus the travel to all destinations. I so appreciate everyones input!!! Ciao! Shelly

You can now book online for November. It looks like October is completely gone. I'm guessing that December tickets will be available soon. The website is http://www.cenacolovinciano.org/sito/ing_prenotazioni.html

Scroll down to the BOOK NOW link. If the next screen comes up in Italian, upper right corner has an English icon. Then scroll down to the bottom and choose your month.

Good luck.
