Easter Midnight Mass at the Duomo in Firenze?

Does anyone know if Santa Maria del Fiore has a midnight mass on the eve of Easter? I'm planning to attend the Exploding Cart on Easter, arriving early to grab a good seat outside but I'd like to attend services as well. Saturday midnight mass would totally work for me. I've tried searching for past years without any luck.

Thanks in advance!

Yes, they have mass on Saturday, Easter eve, night at the Duomo in Florence.

The 'scoppio del carro' is on Easter Sunday at noon.

I understand that being there early is good to secure a good viewing spot, but it's not necessary to be there from the night before. It's not like trying to buy a new iPad on Black Friday.

I didn't say I was going to be there the night before and wait. I said I wanted to go to service at the Midnight Mass. And then on Easter I'd arrive early to see the exploding cart. In between I'll return to my hotel and sleep.

The service you may be referring to is the Easter Vigil, which usually begins after sundown and is the time that adults (and children) are baptized into the Church. The Mass includes several more readings from Scripture, the rites of initiation for baptism, confirmation, and first Eucharist for the newly baptized within the Eucharistic liturgy for the whole assembly, of which the newly baptized are now a part. This service usually takes 2-3 hours, depending on how many people are being baptized, but generally ends before midnight.
