The Attic - stairs v elevator only

Hello Travel Buffs: I have read about the Attic experience at the Coliseum and I have a couple of specific questions. I sent a private message; but after 2 weeks I have received no response. I’m hoping someone with recent-ish experience can address these questions/concenrs. Context: My husband and I are 79 and 80 and fit for our age. But, that only goes so far. We still travel internationally, plan our own 4-5 week trips (I do) and walk long distances daily when traveling. We enjoy history and architecture.
I have read that the panoramic elevator for the Attic accesses SOME of the attic area (specifically levels 1 and 2), but not levels 3, 4 and 5. The stairs sound a bit daunting. I am wondering if the views from the panoramic elevator offer a lot more than views available with only general admission to the Coliseum? Can we choose to go up (or part way up) level 3 and then back down if we decide the stairs are too much?
Thank you for any information you can provide. Cheers, Susan
