I just wanted to say thank you to the helpline. We just returned from 2 weeks in Italy. Kent, Ron in Rome (here and on his great website), the train guys, and everybody who helped.
I would recommend a couple of days in Bologna for anybody connecting cities. The food is truely wonderful and city great.
