We’re spending the last few days of our vacation in Rome before flying home on United 885. I understand that you can easily get tested at any farmacia but my question is about the process from then on. In what form are you given your results and how do you upload it to the United Travel Ready app?
I think the pharmacy will e-mail you the results which you can then forward to United. For back-up I would get a paper copy from the pharmacy in case the digital demons rise up.
We flew United from Rome last Friday
Tested at pharmacy in Trastevere and were given paper copy of results
I didn’t bother uploading
Just show the paper at check in
We flew home from Rome last week. We got an email about 30 minutes after our test where we could download our results (we knew they were negative from being verbally told before we left the pharmacy). We uploaded to the United app and also had to show the results on our phone at the airport.
I received a printed copy of my results, took a photo of the document, and uploaded it. It seems like it depends on the pharmacy you use. A correction: you can't get tested at any pharmacy. Not all offer testing.
Can you use free self-tests provided by US government?
No the tests have to be proctored and purchased. I bought our la from emed.
We tested in Rome Monti area we were given paper result even uploading to airline they still wanted all our paperwork at Rome airport in person so all the time I wasted uploading ahead was for nothing
I had a different experience then the above poster flying United today from Milan.
I took a picture of the test results and uploaded it the United ap.
I was able to checkin and get a boarding pass last night.
I did not need to go to the checkin counter at all traveling with a carry on.
from two recent experiences with United:
1) just take picture and or upload the screenshot on the travel ready app
2) once they asked for a copy (on phone was fine) before boarding
