Termini vs Triburtina

Hi -

I am arrivign in Rome (with kids in tow) on May 9, from Sienna. We have the option of a train arriving in Termini or in Tiburtina. We will go directly to our B&B which is located a 5 minute wal from the Vatican (on Via Andrea Doria). Can anyone advise me which station is best to use? I am a bit worried about arriving in Rome and want to have my first steps down as clearly as possible.

Thank you so much for any advice!!

I believe that Termini is closer by 4 metro stops and a metro change. I believe that the Vatican stop is Ottaviano-San Pietro. CLICK HERE for the Rome metro map.

Yes, Tiburtina is on the metro B line, whereas Termini, being the central transportation hub, is on both the A and B lines.

So if you go to Tiburtina and take the subway, you'll have to wind up at Termini anyway!

If you're going to take a cab, you'll be further away at Tiburtina.

Looks like Termini is the way to go!

Termini is the way to go. I took the bus from Siena and was dropped off at Tiburtina and had to transfer at Termini for the A line.
