Does anyone know about there being two stations in rome, and having to walk from one to the other to change trains when travelling from civitavecchia to venice?

richard, There are actually about eight train stations in Rome, with Roma Termini being the largest and busiest (Roma Tiburtina is also fairly busy). You'll probably find the information you need on Ron's Excellent Website. As you're travelling to Venice, you'll likely have to get from Civitavecchia to Roma Termini, where you can connect with the EuroStar Italia / Alta Velocita / FrecciaArgento trains (reservations compulsory, travel time ~3H:45M). When buying tickets, note that your destination station will be Venezia Santa Lucia. Buon Viaggio!
