Termini connection time-23 minutes?

I finally saw the schedules are posted and route I wanted is already sold out. So can I move from freccia to intercity in 23 minutes? There will be 4 of us with luggage. I just don't know what to allow timewise.

I cannot believe the route is sold out. What is the route? I have to see that for myself since it is very rare for any train to sell out. Did you get a message of "No solution found." That covers a lot of sins.

23 minutes is a lifetime for changing in Termini. Just be sure you know the train number for your next train. And check the board at the head of the platform for your train's platform.

PS - Relying on your other postings. I just check on for Venice to LaSpezia on July 22 after 0800. Did not find a single sold out train. To the contrary, nearly every routing still have Super Economy tickets available which means that practically no tickets have been sold. If that is not your route, let me know what it is. I really doubt if it is sold out.

north,

It would help to have some further information on which route is "sold out". In any case, 23 minutes is more than adequate to change trains at Roma Termini, as it's a "dead end" station so it's only necessary to walk to the end of one platform and then across to the next one.

Never heard of a route being sold out, especially 2 months in advance.
At most the standard class (the lowest class level on a Frecciarossa) sells out on some trains, but generally that doesn't happen until the same day or day before. The higher classes (like premium, business, and executive) absolutely never sell out.

The 8:50 Venice S Lucia to 15.21 La Spezia Central has the cart symbol with the red do not enter symbol over it. And I can't click on it and choose that time. I just assumed it was sold out.

It is the intercity portion that is sold out, when I hold the cursor over the cart. I had just wanted to make sure we had a seat, thus the IC vs regional

Of course, that train connection is at Milano Centrale station, not Roma Termini. It still is a terminus-type station, so changing trains does not require any stairs or tunnels.

That is the train that I wanted because we could get seats reserved, but it is stating that the IC portion is sold out.

[Edited again] I see what you mean and don't know the reason for it. Waiting a few days might solve the problem.

The next departure on the list is for sale and is faster, traveling via Firenze SMN station. Same ease of layout. I wouldn't worry too much about not having reserved seats on the second leg. The regional train does originate there at Firenze SMN, so you should be able to board just as soon as you get off the other train (not waiting for this one to arrive). If it is crowded, you may get an opportunity to change seats when people get off at earlier stops.

I checked all dates for June and all IC trains from Milan to La Spezia show that "sold out" cart sign for dates after June 12.

All of them appear sold out after June 12 and there are several throughout the day on that route!! That is obviously impossible.

At the same time they are all available for sale and none are sold out for dates prior to June 12. That includes all the IC trains today May 21. They are all available and none are sold out even though they are departing in a few hours.

It clearly appears to be a date problem. It seems that IC trains are not available for sale for dates after June 12 yet. Don't know if it's a website issue.

Finally got them purchased for the two long legs. They only give you 9 minutes to get it all done, good times. I will have to look into the couple shorter legs to find out train times but won't need to purchase ahead. Thanks for all the help. I have two 23 minute transfers but I am going with, it will work.
