I will be traveling to Rome in June and would like to take a day trip to Orvieto and tour Tenuta Le Velete, Cecilia's family estate winery. I know Rick Steve's tours visit and do wine tasting here but does anyone know if you are not with a RS tour can you tour Tenuta Le Velete? I have tried emailing them twice and haven't received a response.

Kathy, Their website doesn't seem to be fully operational yet. You might try phoning 076-329-090 or Mobile 348-300-2002 (you'll need to add the appropriate country prefix, I believe it's 039). Good luck!

I am trying to contact the winery, Tenuta le Velette near Orvieto, by email without success. Has anyone gotten a reply? Has anyone set-up a tour/tasting? Thanks!

Jennifer, It's possible that the Winery is still closed for the season. I saw Cecilia in Seattle last week at the annual festivities at RS headquarters, so she may not be back in Italy yet. Note that tours of the winery and tastings are "by appointment only". In addition to the phone numbers provided above, you could also try [email protected] or the website at www.levelette.it Cheers!
