Hello, I'm trying to find reviews for the agritourismo Tenuta Le Fornacelle in Torre del Grecco outside Naples. I've looked in all the usual places (tripadvisor, booking.com, dogpile) but to no avail. Is anyone familiar with it? It looks great in pictures but I know I can't rely on just that. It's near Herculaneum (which we want to visit) and close to the Naples airport for our noon flight home so I thought it would possibly be a good, relaxing, last stop for a couple of nights before we fly out after a month in Southern Italy and Sicily. We could stay at the Andris hotel which is in the same area and gets good reviews but I liked the look of Tenuta Le Fornacelle. Any help, suggestions, etc. would be really appreciated. Thanks, Velda

I would be VERY leary of staying there, based on the lack of reviews. All I could find were three reviews on booking.com and they're not exactly positive. If this place was great, there would be all sorts of glowing reviews online.

Thanks to you both! I don't know how I missed the booking.com reviews in my initial search.....After looking at them, they don't sound glowing. I could only read one but I think I will steer clear of the place. I really appreciate the help. All the best to you. Velda

velda, My last memory of Torre del Greco from a few years ago, was huge piles of trash piled along the road leading to Vesuvius. Hopefully that's improved by now. Admittedly there's no way to accurately gauge the quality of the place just from the photos they provide. However, in all fairness to the hotel it appears to be a somewhat high-end property, located some distance away from the town in the middle of olive groves and overlooking the bay. There could be several explanations why there is a lack of reviews on Trip Advisor and other sites. Their website appears to have only an Italian language option, so perhaps they market more to local travellers who haven't yet filed any reviews? The fact that there's a lack of both positive and negative comments seems significant. I had a look at the three reviews on booking.com and they seemed to be generally favourable, but a bit "mixed". Given what I've seen on their website, I'd probably give it a try if I was ever in that area. Happy travels!
