Temperature in September

Hello! Firstly, thank you for all the great replies about Florence and Rome!

My questions now is about September weather. Are we better off temperature wise to go to Rome and Florence in late Sept rather than early Sept. Thanks!

I went last September, right after Labor Day, and it was HOT and quite humid in Rome and Florence. More so, in Rome than Florence. Venice wasn't too bad at that time. I did lots of walking all over each city. Would recommend going a bit later in the month if you're heat-sensitive. I was also told that their summer in 2009 was hotter than normal...so that may have played a factor too. Have fun!

My experience last September was similar to Kelly's--we were in Tuscany and Rome in late September and early October and it was hot then! It's hard to predict--I'd look at the trends.

The later you go, the more likely you are to have lower temps - though that is relative. Expect hot, even well into October. And start in Florence, then to Rome, further south is warmer.

Make sure your accommodations have AC.
