I took a jacket and wore sweaters underneath. The weather was mild, in the 50's. I have been to Italy twice in November and the weather was great. Remember in Venice it is a little cooler. Enjoy!

Yes, take a coat and an umbrella. I was in Rome between 10/26 and 11/02 an dit rained almost every day. It was cold, but wet.
The further North you go , the colder it is.

Take a coat and sweater. You will need one or both at night, regardless of daytime temps.

Thank you all! We're leaving in the morning and I think I will take both the coat and the sweaters...and a goretex jacket my sister in law lent me...and I'll probably never learn to travel light, but I'm not used to the cold...
