temperature in July?

We're looking at renting a house in the Tuscany area in mid-July. Any idea what the temperature runs that time of the year? We're trying to decide if we need to find a place with a pool and a/c in the bedrooms. Is it bearable without the a/c?

It is very hot in July-August. I always want a/c for sleeping purposes at least. To me it is well worth the xtra euros.
Of course a pool is a luxury not a necessity. There are so many villages to visit in Tuscany I can't imagine having time to sit/swim by a pool. But I realize everyone is different. Enjoy. It is a wonderful place to kick back enjoy vistas, wine and food.

Yup, it's gonna be hot. I'd plan for temps in the 90's. Be aware that even if you get an a/c unit it'll probably only go down to the low 70's or so. Makes it more bearable but not like I like it. I can usually get by with open windows but if you're like minded be sure to ask if the windows are screened. Alot of times they aren't. Unscreened is undoable because of the bugs.

If you can't find a house in your price range without AC, ask if the house has shutters (AKA rolladens) on all the windows. If so, it will be doable. You open the windows at night to let the "cool" air in, and close the windows and rolladens during the day to keep it in. I lived in Pisa for 2 years doing this, bedroom should be on 1st floor ideally. There were a few really hot nights, but if you have hand towels/washcloths you can wet them down and put them on yourself. A friend of mine once even used those reusable ice packs! Brrr.
