My wife and I, together with another couple are visiting Rome in May. I wanted to check in with those in the know on the use of taxis to get around. We are staying at an apartment in Monti (no hotel to call us a cab). Here are my questions:
- Will a taxi pick up on Via Cavour near Cavour Metro if we use the Free Now app?
- Will a taxi drop-off at other than a taxi stand? I know that they will not go on some small side streets if they are too narrow or too many pedestrians on them. Possible drop-off locations are Via Giulia (near Piazza Farnese), Piazza di San Pantaleo, Via Leonne IV, Vatican Museums, Baths of Caracalla, and Piazza Testaccio.
- Will a taxi take us out as far as the Catacombs of San Callisto? What's the best way to arrange a taxi back - Free Now - direct call to the taxi company - pre-arranged somehow - or ask Catacombs to call?
