Has anyone flagged down taxis in Florence and Rome where you had to put a collapsible wheelchair in the boot? Are drivers accommodating? Thanks

My best friend has CP and is confined to a wheelchair and him and his parents went to Rome in 2008 and found this site very helpful. I hope it helps you aswell. http://www.slowtrav.com/italy/accessible/rome/wheelchair.htm

Much thanks.The website for slowtravel was great. It answered most of my questions. Another site that I found useful was www.sagetraveling.com that gives tips for disabled persons travelling in different parts of Europe.
