Taxis 24 hours a day?

I was wondering if I can catch a taxi at the train station in Rome 24 hours a day. I will be staying at a convent near the train station and need to catch a flight at 0615 in the morning. I will probably need to catch a taxi at around 0330 in the morning to get to the airport in time for my check in.

I am also hoping that the nuns will be up to let me out that early. Yikes!

Anybody know how easy it is to get a taxi that early in the morning?

Thanks in advance.

I think I could make a good case for spending the night at the airport -- significant savings --- $70 cab ride and one night of lodging.

Lori,
Have the nuns arrange to have a taxi at the convent by calling the night before. This is a common practice. Most places have a lock that can be opened from the inside without a key, no one has to be up, but be careful, once you are out you can't get back in without help.

The first train to the airport from the termini is around 6am. I was going to do that but I would not have gotten to the airport in time for my flight so, at the front desk of my hotel they made a reservation with a shuttle van. It cost me 24 Euros.

Thanks everyone. I just heard from the nuns, no problem getting a taxi (they will arrange for one for me) or getting out.

Thanks so much for all the advice!
