Taxi travel time Termini area hotel to FCO

We have an 06:30 departure from FCO to Brussels and are seeking guidance on what time we should schedule our Taxi pickup. I like to plan on airport arrivals 2.5 hours prior to ETD.
Thanks you in advance

Plan on about 30 minutes for the taxi ride, so if you want to be at FCO 2.5 hrs prior, then a 3:30AM pick up would be your plan.

Last year our Lufthansa flight departed FCO to Munich about the same time of day. I agree with the preceding time assessment. Our driver, arranged by our hotel, was ready for us as we came from our room. We were immediately on our way. Rome at that time of early morning was very interesting and fun to see. The road was very clear and we zipped to FCO. We did find we arrived earlier than the Lufthansa checkin counters opened, which was no big deal. It seems to me we paid a small premium relative to normal hour charges.

Thanks to both of you. Brussels Airlines ticket counter also does not open until 5am. Our trip is not until November, but we are flying Lufthansa from JFK to FCO via MUC. How did you like your Lufthansa flight?

You really do not need to be there that early. It is a domestic flight - no immigration, etc. - so 90 mins early is more than adequate. At that time in the morning the airport is pretty quiet. If it was mid-day, I would add another 30 minutes.

Brussels is in the EU Schengen area. A flight to BRU is therefore the equivalent of a domestic flight in the US. I don’t know many people who show up at the airport 2.5 hours prior to departure for a domestic flight. 90 min is more than sufficient. So if you leave Termini area at 4:30am (zero traffic at that time), you will get to FCO at about 5am, more than enough to board a flight to Belgium.

We have the same time departure (6.30am) but going to Amsterdam on KLM for our flight home in early January 2019. This is helpful information to know for timing to check in at FCO. How much was the taxi?

Our trip isn't until November, but I'll try to remember to post the taxi cost.

There is night time surcharge but I don't know the hours but I think the surcharge is around 10 euro. Lufthansa used to be our preferred airline both for service and food. But the last two trips have been very average with very tight economy class. The economics of all the big carriers are about the same. I see little difference now between them and United or Delta. Got to packem in and cut the corners. Your flight will be OK but don't expect anything great.
