Taxi to FCO at 5 AM

In November my wife and I will be staying at an apartment in Rome. When we leave Rome our flight will depart from FCO at 8 AM. Staying in an apartment we won't have a concierge to call a taxi at 5 AM. Any suggestions on how best to get to the airport at that hour? Are there taxis on the streets or at the taxi stands at that time? We won't have much luggage so walking a bit for a taxi is not an issue.

Thanks Maggie, I assume the blue car service you mention is at this web site: http://www.nccroma.net A google search brings up several different "blue car services".

Hi Brian. Many people on this forum & on others that I belong to endorse Romecabs.com. Rome Cabs ia known for being very dependable and reliable. We used them last year from FCO to our apartment in Rome. I booked them months ahead of time & when it came down to it, our flight was 5 hours late & I was worried that they would not be there to pick us up. They monitored our flight arrival time & were there holding a sign with our last name on it just outside the luggage carousel area. They didn't require pre-payment either so I was worried that something would fall through the cracks. Our driver was extremely friendly & it was a good experience. I would definitely use them again. The fare was only 5 euros above what the taxi cabs charge (I think it's set at 40-45 euros for the taxis & it was only 5 euros more for Rome Cabs. It was a nice Mercedes car. Have a great trip.

Thanks for the reply. It sounds like an easy solution for only a little more money. I checked the Romecabs.com website and the rate from the city center to FCO is 55 Euros - only because it is an off hour departure.
