Thanks for the heads-up, Michael. I'm headed to Rome on Wednesday and was counting on taking a taxi from Termini to my hotel. I could manage with the metro, but all those stairs with my suitcase, and then a steep climb to the hotel . . . . sigh.

Chani, you may be able to take a bus. And by Wednesday the strike will most likely be over.

Echoing Zoe here: the shuttle buses to/from the airport are very comfortable plus they're very inexpensive. If the strike looks to be dragging on - as she said, it'll very likely be over by Wed. - you might want to snag a seat in advance as those will probably be in demand.

I would either take the express train or take a private transfer. Neither are affected by the strike.

Chani, Maybe Uber could be your friend this time....

Uber drivers are taking a lot of heat with the strike. I wouldn't risk it.

I'm hoping the strike will be over by Wednesday. I'm not flying in, I'm arriving by train at Termini, so without a taxi, it will be metro or bus to my hotel. Either way, I have 2 blocks on a steep hill. I will survive it, I'm sure, even if I'm not a happy camper for an hour or so.
