Hi all,
I’m a first time traveler to Italy. We are taking a group tour, but have purchased tickets for a Colosseum tour on our last day. Unfortunately, there’s a scheduled taxi strike on that day. Could someone please advise me on the best way to get from a hotel by Fiumicino airport to the Colosseum? The simpler the better. Thank you.
You can call a private limo service (a.k.a. NOLEGGIO CON CONDUCENTE in Italian, or car hire with driver). You can google Noleggio Con Conducente Roma.
Or, if your hotel has a shuttle to the airport terminal (or if your hotel is Hilton Airport), you can take the train from the airport, or also a bus. Both bus and trains go to the Termini station. From there you can walk to the Colosseum (long walk) or take the Metro.
Is Uber a thing in Italy and if so, is it safe?
No Uber in Italy
Are you sure there is a taxi strike in the coming weeks? I couldn't find anything on the local press
