Taxi service in Montepulciano

Hello,

We will be staying at the Salcheto Winehouse in Montepulciano for 3 days. We are looking forward to experiencing the various wineries in that area, and thus would prefer not to drive. Does any one have experience with taxi services there? Do I have to pre-arrange a driver, or is it possible to just call a taxi service on the day that we would like to go, and have them pick us up? Thanks,

Jason

Hi Jason,

My husband and I are staying at Follonico (not too far from Salcheto) and weren't planning on renting a car during our stay in Tuscany.

We are researching efficient ways to get around during our short stay and was wondering the same thing! Have you found a taxi service you could call to get around town or to just go to and from lunch or dinner?

I know there are personal drivers and tours available in the region, but I already have a specific list of what I would like to do, see, eat.

Would love to hear your feedback!

Thanks all!

Hey Maryashley;)

I actually just asked the Salcheto Winehouse if they could arrange taxis to pick us up from the hotel. They said they would be able to. I have a feeling this may be something worthwhile to ask the place you are staying at. We didn’t book any cars. I might end up renting one the last day we are there in case I get the urge to go for a nice drive in the countryside. I definitely recommend asking the place you are staying at, I think they are the best sources of knowledge. Hope this helps!

Did y'all find a taxi service? I need to get a farm 13 km (only 8.1 miles) outside Montepulciano at 5 o'clock and picked back up at 8:30 or so the quote I got of car service at 70 euro seems high for that. I am also looking for a car service or taxi to do a wine tour of Montalcino so would love suggestions for that too but for this little jaunt to the country and back seems like I could find a cheaper method otherwise I will just drive.
