Hi We will be spending the night in San Gimignano on friday night and saturday morning
we want to get to the train station in Florence by around 9:30 in the morning. I know that there is a bus from
san Gimignano to Poggibonsi and then on to Florence, but, worried about having to get there so early.
Also, can't seem to find the bus schedule on line anymore.
Any ideas? Wondered about a taxi or I thought perhaps there would be a driver we could hire since the distance is not that great. Anyone know how to arrange this and what the approximate cost would be?

I'd love to hear someone's advice on this too. We are staying approx. 10 miles southeast of Florence in the countryside, and planning to rent a car....but if there's another option (no bus or train goes near) , would love to hear it.

Take Siena Mobilita' bus 130 from San Gimignano (Piazza San Giovanni) at 7:30am.
Arrive at Poggibonsi Train Station at 7:52 am.
Take bus 131/0 from Poggibonsi train station at 8:00 am.
Arrive at Firenze (via Alamanni, next to SMN train station) at 8:50.
Or if you don't want to get up that early, you can do the same with departure from San Gimignano at 8:50 am and arrive at Florence at 10:15am (same buses combinations).
From Poggibonsi station you could also take a train, but the bus is faster.

You need a rental car for countryside accommodations. Keep it and drive to Florence.
