I am hoping that someone else has experience with what we are trying to do.
We are basing ourselves in Bologna and on April 22 we want to make a trip to Antica Corte Pallavicina Relais which was featured on the Anthony Bourdain show No Reservations.
We are not planning to rent a car and the transportation options to the small town of Polesine Parmense seem very limited.
The plan at the moment is to take a train to the town of Fidenza and then get a taxi to Polesine Parmenese which is just under 30 mins away.
With this not being a major tourist town will there be taxis at the train station like I have experienced in other Italian cities?
Also I have tried contacting several 'car for hire' services in the region and I have only got 1 response that told me I have to call a taxi in Fidenza.
My biggest concern is that we can get to Polesine Parmenese and the restaurant, but then once we go to leave we are stuck in the middle of nowhere and have to wait on the bus to Parma that only seems to run a few times per day.
I am hoping someone here has tried this or something similar and can weigh in on what the best way to handle this would be.
