I will be traveling with my 4 grandchildren. Our flight arrives in Rome at 8pm on a Sat evening. I am thinking of taking a taxi to the hotel but am wondering if I will find one that can fit 5 people plus our luggage? Also what should I expect to pay. Our hotel is near the train station- we will be going on a RS tour.

You should be able to fit five unless you have more than one carryon each . The fixed fee is 48E and there can be a night supplement but do not remember what time that kicks in.

The taxi stand attendant will direct you to a larger taxi (minivan) to accommodate your party. The night charge is after 10pm a nod there is also a €1 charge for each piece of luggage. Since it's 5 of you, the taxi is still cheaper than the train.
