We are planning a trip to Sicily next March or April and want to include the Villa in our plans. But the Villabus from Piazza Armerina does not begin until May. Have any of you arranged a taxi to the Villa? If so, did you prearrange a return pickup time (from Villa to Piazza Armerina) or call the taxi when you were ready? I've seen posts on TripAdvisor that says the driver waits at the Villa, but I'm not sure if that's how it works. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

We walked out to the Villa from Piazza Armerina. It was terribly hot in late May, but in March or April I really think it would be okay. We saw no evidence of taxis waiting at the Villa. Hope somebody else has your answer!

You can have a taxi wait for you but you may end up paying for waiting time, agree on a price beforehand. Having the reception desk call one for you when you are ready to leave is also an option. The site is several kilometers from Piazza Armerina.
