Does anyone k ow if there is an average wait time for a taxi out of FCO? We arrive midweek in the morning.

4 arrivals in past 6 years
Fixed rate 50 euros
Do not go with anyone offering a taxi
Only use the official taxi rank

You will likely have no wait at all, just follow the signs and go to the official taxi line.

And ignore guys who try to solicit you for a taxi. Those are the so-called gypsy taxis and they will take you for a ride alright. Go to the official line. It may look long, it moves fast.

They are suppose to take credit card BUT ..... make sure the credit card machine is working -- ASK !!!!

When I arrived in Rome last October 2022, I waited about 20-25 minutes in the taxi line. This was about 9 am on a Thursday, I think. I believe this summer folks were waiting a long time due to the large numbers of visitors and not enough taxis. So, it’s hard to tell. And yes, make sure to ask if they take credit cards.
