Does anyone know how much the ride costs and how long the ride is? We have a 6:40 AM flight-
We arrive in Milan around 10:00 AM on Sunday and have the early flight out on Monday- I don’t want to have to stay out at the airport.
It is a fixed rate of 95 euros from Milan to Malpensa. It should take about 45 min that early in the morning.
Hi,
The fare is a fixed 95 (yes, ninety five) euros... Sure you don't prefer to sleep close to the airport? You could leave your luggage, tour Milan and head back by train, and have a slightly less early morning the next day...
Some travelers here choose to spend the last night in a hotel close to the airport. The distance of the airport from the city center should not be under-estimated.
Thanks! I think we will drop off our luggage at the Sheraton, then take the train into Milan for the day and come back for the night. Sounds like it will make for a much less stressful early morning. I would hate to end the amazing trip on a bad note!
Yes, that's what many, reporting in here, do. Less stress, in a situation where the airport is unusually far from the city center.
Yes, the Sheraton is your friend. And you can take the Malpensa Express to the Milano Cadorna Station instead of Centrale. Shorter ride (35 minutes) and smaller station. From there you can easily walk around to sight see or take the Metro.
You can buy a same day return ticket at the normal price of 26 EUR and get a Milano Card for city transport and some other discounts. Or you can buy a return ticket on-line for 20 EUR.

sb,
You could always store your luggage at the Deposito Bagagli at Milano Centrale and do a bit of touring in Milan. In the late afternoon, travel to Malpensa via the Malpensa Express (€13 PP) and stay at the Sheraton. It's quite posh and of course a bit pricey, but you can walk into the terminals from the hotel. Allow lots of time as some of the gates are quite a walk!
Great information !! Grazie !!
