Can anyone post a link to a reliable taxi company in Rome, Italy. Thanks!
Do you mean a car service that you can book in advance? Where do you plan to go?
If you simply need a taxi ride in Rome, the official Rome taxis (white car with a maroon medallion, found at taxi stands all over) are reliable. They also provide rides from FCO airport to the city (within the ancient walls) for a flat fee of 48 euros.
If you need a specific ride, say to the airport, you can also use www.romecabs.com or www.rome-chauffeur.com. Trip is 50 euros.
If you want an app for your phone so you can summon a taxi in Rome, I recommend "it taxi", for both iphones and Android. Please note: The taxi starts running the meter from the moment he accepts your request. If you're in the historic center of Rome, that won't add much to the fare. But if you're on the outskirts, expect to see a chunk of change already on the meter when he picks you up.
