Taxi cabs at train stations

I'm finalizing the details of our day in Modena and Maranello. My husband and son just got approved to take the Ferrari Owners tour of the Ferrari Factory (yay!) and they are not allowed to bring their cell phones into the factory. When they arrive via train from Bologna (around 9:00 am), will there be taxi cabs waiting at the train station? They will need to take a taxi from the train station to the factory and it's about a 30 minute drive. Just wondering if it's common to see taxi cabs at train stations?

beth,

There are usually Taxis waiting at stations in Italy, and I'm assuming that will be the case at Modena and Maranello. A 30 minute Taxi ride probably won't be cheap.

Thanks Ken. A taxi is their best option for that particular location at that time of day....stuck paying the price. We will use the shuttle buses that Ferrari offers later in the day.

Yes. Taxi stands with waiting taxi cabs are present in front of all main stations in Italy and even some not so main.
Modena.
You can also take the bus no. 800 from the bus station, which is maybe half a mile from the train station.

If for some reason you don't see a cab waiting (which has never happened to me), wait a couple of minutes and they will show up. Use the taxi stand, not an "unofficial" taxi.

Yes, it's common to see taxi cabs at train stations. Make sure you use real taxi cabs that are marked "Taxi" and ask the driver how much it will cost to your destination before you get in. Otherwise, you may be overcharged.
