Am thinking of maybe getting a tattoo in Italy to commemorate my trip and be a lasting souvenier. Any experience with Tattoo parlors good or bad?

I'd wait until you get home to get a tattoo. Would this be your first one? I'm asking because you have to put ointment on it every day and it can itch and/or hurt as it heals. I wouldn't want to deal with that on vacation.

I totally agree with Sarah. I have 3 tattoos and it is a huge bummer putting the cream on everyday and the itch and the burn. Not to mention you can not be out in the sun, the sun could really mess up the ink. Wait till you get home.

Perhaps you can buy a design and take that home with you to get the actual tattoo.

Not such a good idea when you're away. Find a symbol you really like while you are away and get you artist at home to do it. Besides their standards may be a lot different than home. Sanitation???? And who wants to haste with the cream and what nots. What about maybe getting infected etc.
Yeah really not a great idea.
