Any thoughts on Tarquinia? We are staying in an apartment at a winery near Orvieto in Sept. and will have a rental car. We have a list of recommendations of places to see. In doing research, I can find very little about Tarquinia other than that it has some interesting Etruscan tombs. Thanks!

Did you go? How was it? Any suggestions? We are planning to do a half day seeing the tombs & Tarquinia and the evening in Civita di Bagnorergio. Sad to say, but I feel lost if Rick doesn't have a chapter on something...

I was surprised to see this post come up after 4 years! Glad I happened to see it. We did not go to Tarquinia as we really couldn't find out much about it. I did see some photos of the tombs online, but don't remember exactly where. From what I understand they don't have all of them open each day so you see whichever are open. Someone else may have more up-to-date info. We stayed two weeks and had a marvelous time. We drove to one or two hilltowns each day. Have a great trip! Teri
