My husband and I will be staying in Taormina.
We are struggling to choose a hotel because it is difficult to pinpoint exactly the best location to be for most activities.
We are looking at Villa Hotel Carlotta and Hotel Schuler.
Any suggestions are welcome - we love the views of the sea.
The place is not that big. You can walk from one end of the main drag to the other in 10 minutes (between the two gates). Go to Google maps and you can call up a map that shows you where all the hotels are. Not sure what activities you're interested in, but the gondola to the waterfront area is at the north end, as is the Greek theatre. But really, everything is walkable from the main street shopping area.
