Hi. Now looking for a b&b or apartment in Taormina, near the Corso is OK if not facing the street noise. Found VillaSara apt.(the B&B not available), ground floor below the B&B, overlooking the road. Good price, no terrace, so no grand views like B&B's, just "some" view from balcony overlooking garden. Can handle steps but read a review about the 408(!) steps to get there. Is this TRUE? 5-min. bus ride available, but I'd like to check other options, apartment or B&B nearer to the center, and I'd forego the views. Spouse says, how much time would you spend looking at the view? Any ideas, good or bad? I'm weary from viewing websites; they all "look nice," but prefer 1st-hand feedback.

Ciao, greg
Check out hotelvillanettuno.it.Quiet, views, lovely garden, close to town and reasonable.
We stayed at "Ricks pic"; the Hotel Continental. The neat thing was the back entrance. You just walked 1/2 block from Corso Umberto (the main street), thru a garden area and you were in their beautiful gardan area. You could drive to it also, although the car/cab access was arduous.
It was quiet, very reasonable; had excellent food, had an awesome roof top terrace, and the rooms had some great views.

Greg, Linda, Steve: thanks, all. Greg, thanks for input about Villa Galante. Lovely, but clearly, one would need a car, and I'll be on-foot. Linda, I'll be looking at Villa Nettuna, thanks. Steve, Have a "hold" on Continental, but still hoping for an apartment set-up. Still have time. Hoping for more leads. Peg
