Has anyone used Motorola TalkAbout Radios in Italy? I would like to use a set to keep our group of five in contact while in Venice, Florence, and Rome.
Pat, This is NOT a good idea, as the frequencies used by FRS or other radios here are used by emergency services in some places in Europe. Should you interefere with emergeny communications, you could face severe penalties. If you have suitable Cell phones, that may be one option. Text messaging is relatively inexpensive. Cells will also have better range and performance than radios.
It's true. American walkie-talkies are illegal in Italy for that very reason.
Thank you both. This is what I expected. Will go the texting via cell phone instead.
You'll need cell phones that work in Italy, you know.
